A Space Designed for You
Not many homeowners know what to expect when approaching a kitchen or bathroom remodel. They often don’t know where to go first: find a contractor, find a designer, is there someone who does both? In this scenario, the perfect solution is turning to Bath, Kitchen & Tile Center (BKT), a one-stop shop for kitchen and bathroom projects. Since 1963, BKT has been serving residents throughout Eastern Maryland, Delaware and Southern Pennsylvania.
Whether you’re doing a project yourself, working with a contractor or looking to have them install their products for you, the team at BKT can assist with every phase of remodeling a kitchen or bathroom, from concept to completion, including intelligent design services and quality cabinets, countertops, tile and appliances, sold at factory-direct prices.
BKT has been a locally owned family business for over 55 years. Third-generation family member Richard Campbell and his team are ushering in a unique approach to their customer experience. “We are extremely focused on the homeowner experience. For a lot of our clients this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and we want them to experience the BKT difference,” he says.
BKT enjoys working with customers who currently have a remodeling contractor, the people who are doing it themselves or those looking to have BKT install products they supply. “We’re a one-stop shop and that means different things to different people. We want our customers to leverage the years of experience and partnerships we have built. Our design consultants are here to help,” Campbell says.
BKT only partners with the top cabinet manufactures in the industry, from quick delivery options, semi-custom options and fully custom offerings with endless possibilities. The company also fabricates its own stone and quartz in house. “This is something unique and unusual for our industry,” Campbell says. “We’re able to control the schedule, quality and also give our consumers a product at a factory-direct price point.”
The difference at BKT is the experience. The staff is comprised of true specialists in kitchens and bathrooms. “Our design consultants understand the design principles in the industry and the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) guidelines, bringing those together for a space that’s designed well but also focused on clients’ needs,” Campbell says.
Every project begins with a needs assessment, discussing how the homeowner uses the space, what design elements they like. “Everyone uses their kitchens and bathrooms differently—Richard Campbell, third-generation family member so we want their space to function specifically for their needs,” he says.
Once the goals of the project are defined, a 3D rendering is created for the homeowner’s review. The next step is perhaps one of the biggest advantages of working with BKT: the showrooms. The company has three kitchen and bath showrooms with full displays and vignettes. Its fourth showroom in Newark is attached to their countertop manufacturing facility focused on tile and countertops.
Due to the visual nature of a kitchen and bath remodel, BKT wants to bring the design to life, and the showroom allows customers to touch and feel every element of the design. “Our industry is constantly changing and evolving. Our showrooms are reflective of this and we are constantly updating them with the latest trends in design,” Campbell says. “We’re also in the process of renovating our Wilmington showroom to create a better customer experience. This will be the first time we will have a dedicated area for our clients to sit and visualize, through live renderings, their new space on large display screens.”
