Great Estates: Ventnor
Although this home was built less than a decade ago, everything inside feels lived-in and comfortable. Situated on the bay in Ventnor and boasting a 270-degree view of the water, the 8,500-square-foot vacation home is used by the owners, their children, grandchildren and friends, and designer Karen Givnish made sure to incorporate family-friendly elements throughout. Architectural details contribute to a classic and traditional exterior reminiscent of the Hamptons, which are carried through to the sophisticated and warm interior. The soft blues, greens and sand colors throughout give a nod to the seashore surroundings, and accents and accessories offer a beachy vibe, while the furnishings are transitional, clean and timeless. The two-tiered kitchen island offers prep and seating space for everyone to gather beneath pendant lights that dazzle like ocean gems. Cozy nooks around the home offer the chance to get away for a nap or quiet conversation. At the heart of it all is family, pulled into focus by the photos on display, providing a reminder of what a home is all about.
