Bucks County: Designer House & Gardens

INSIDE HILL CREST MANOR
The 2017 Bucks County Designer House & Gardens
Throughout the month of May visitors toured the 42nd annual Bucks County Designer House &
Gardens, presented by the Village Improvement Association (VIA) of Doylestown.
Proceeds from the month-long event benefitted Doylestown Health, and this year, a portion will go toward the
Richard A. Reif Heart Institute, helping to fund needs for the new Endovascular Surgery Suite.
Hill Crest Manor is an estate located in Buckingham Township. The manor is an example of
architectural symmetry and English influence. Some of the original design details include round
arched attic gable windows, a low-pitched gable roof line and center door. Inside, two parlors line
the hall, and a central staircase features the original banisters. The home's original paneled doors,
molded woodwork surrounds and Victorian box locks with ceramic knobs are also intact.
For those who may have missed their chance to tour the home, here is a behind-the-scenes
look at some of the redesigned spaces.
